SHS Class of 1952 -The Legacy they left at their 65th Class Reunion

Updated: May 3, 2020

At what they thought would be their very last class reunion, the Class of 1952 decided to support the Alumni Fund Scholarship efforts with their last check..

We received a letter and a check in the mail on September 15, 2017. The letter was sent to us from Elsie Schut Bell.Ms. Bell was the Class Treasurer for the Sunnyside High School Graduating Class of 1952.

“We concluded that this would be our probably be our last reunion.” - Elsie Bell, Class of 1952 Treasurer

They had recently just celebrated their 65th Class Reunion and had made the following determination. “We concluded that this would be our probably be our last reunion. We have a small balance in our treasury and would like to contribute the amount of $200 to the SHS Class of ’72 Scholarship Fund.” (Now Sunnyside High School Alumni Scholarship Fund).

Our Commitment to the Class of 1952

We felt deeply honor and very moved. The Foundation Executive Board assured them that we would do our very best to make sure the recipients for 2017 would be deserving of such an honor and a legacy to their class.

They also invited anyone on the westside of the state to a luncheon gathering at 12 noon of every Wednesday of every odd month. The luncheon is held in Fife, Washington. The location has changed over the years since February 2017 and if any alumni is interested in attending a future luncheon, drop us a line and we’ll make sure you get the correct location.
