Palouse Bound Jared Sheehan

Jared Sheehan has been selected to receive the Patrick Underwood STEM Scholarship and will attend Washington State University next fall. The $2,500 scholarship will help financially assist Jared as he pursues a degree in mechanical engineering and a future career as an agricultural engineer. Jared is the son of Jason & Karen Sheehan and he is the oldest of 4 children.

Jared has grown up on a dairy farm his entire life that has given him a strong passion for agriculture and an eventual career. He has a passion for technology and has been involved in multiple classes in high school that dove into topics including auto shop, robotics, and computer science that allowed him to explore the possibilities around his interest and passions. Engineering also requires a good understanding of mathematics and Jared has excelled in all of his classes. He graduated among the top of his class with a 3.99 GPA.

In his scholarship application Jared wrote, "I have become enamored with the opportunities that engineering has to offer. I have taken multiple classes in high school that dove into topics including auto shop, robotics, and computer science that allowed me to explore these possibilities.

Congratulations to Jared on his success at Sunnyside High School and best wishes at Washington State University. A future Cougar but always a "GRIZZLY"!
