University of Washington & Husky Bound
The Sunnyside High School Alumni Fund awards 2 scholarships each year to deserving graduating seniors based on their academic achievement, educational goals, community service and school involvement and we are pleased to announce that one of our "Award Winners" for the Class of 2020 is Natalia Naranjo. Ms. Naranjo is a multi-sport athlete and showed tremendous involvement and caring to her community thru community service.
When asked about her future goals she stated, "I will work hard and dedicate my time to learning to be the best student and hopefully become one of the best surgeons. I understand this is a strong statement to make but if you believe and strive to reach your goals, you can do it."
Natalia is a 3.82 student heading to the University of Washington next fall enrolling in general and pre med courses with the ultimate goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. Her dad and brother our both WSU Cougars so there will always be a little rivalry come "Apple Cup" weekend in the Naranjo household.
When contacted regarding her award, Natalia was ecstatic. "This (award) is such a great honor and will be a tremendous help for college and my future!", stated Natalia in a recent phone conversation. When asked about her future goals she stated, "I will work hard and dedicate my time to learning to be the best student and hopefully become one of the best surgeons. I understand this is a strong statement to make but if you believe and strive to reach your goals, you can do it." She further stated that, "As long as I use my resources wisely and continue to achieve my little goals first, I will achieve my ultimate goal."
Ms. Naranjo was chosen from a blue-ribbon applicant pool of over twenty aspiring applicants, that were all worthy of consideration. Congratulation Natalia we wish you well and success in your future endeavors.
